Sage Fishing Tackle
Sage Fishing Tackle was founded by Don Greene, in 1980. He established the company under the name of Winslow Rod Co., in Bainbridge Island – Washington, with the sole intention of building some of the best fly fishing rods.
The huge culmination of Greene’s employees, his vision and constant diversity, led the company to improving its products. The basic idea behind each rod is to let it last for a long time. Knowing that nonstop casting demands an appropriate modicum of flexibility from a rod, the power and balance ratio had to be perfect.
In 1982, Sage’s first Reserve Power rods were released. 3 years later, several other products joined the line, and then there was no looking back. The developers still consider it a matter of luck because in 1994, a movie known as: “A River Runs Through It”, was released.
Coincidentally, during those days, the company released its Graphite IV SP carbon fiber rods, which became high in demand. Due to every inch of effort, this organization is now established as a pioneer in the highly competitive fly fishing market.
